Melvita

29th January sees the UK launch of French natural and organic skincare brand, Melvita.
Established in France for over 25 years, Melvita is the largest certified organic beauty brand across the Channel, and offers a boggling 300 products in its top-to-toe range, each certified by Ecocert, and with something for every member of the family.
Anti-ageing facial care products feature strongly. The aloe vera-rich, lemony-scented Hydrastim (£20, 50ml) is a moisturising gel specifically for dehydrated skin, which can be used alone or under a more traditional moisturising cream, while that often neglected delicate area around your eyes may benefit from a little Eye Contour Gel (£18, 15ml), which fuses caffeine, ginkgo biloba and acacia gum to boost micro-circulation, reduce puffiness, and rejuvenate.
Men tempted to pilfer from wives and girlfriends may be pleased to learn of Melvita’s Pour Homme selection, which includes an Eye Contour Gel too (£18, 15ml), but also an Anti-Ageing Fluid (£22, 50ml) with anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties from oils such as olive, argan and shea. More traditional products, such as Facial Cleansing Gel (£13, 100ml), Shower Gel (£11, 200ml) and several shaving innovation products, also feature highly.
More unusual products include a range of four toothpastes (£4.50-5, 75ml), each with over 99% nature-derived ingredients, and an Intimate Hygiene Gel (£11, 225ml) for women, with mallow, cranberry and hibiscus.
Melvita has formidable ‘free from’ credentials – it is free from products of petrochemical origin, ethoxylated and glycolated products, synthetic fragrances or colours, formaldehyde, parabens and phenoxyethanol. In addition, at least 95% of the total ingredients in each product are nature-derived, and at least 95% of plant-based ingredients are organic.
More launches – of a young skincare range for teens, and a mother and baby collection – are planned later in the year, around spring. We’ll announce the news here as soon as we have it…
