Building on the huge success of our elder sibling, the FreeFrom FoodAwards, Skins Matter is, in 2012, launching its own FreeFrom Skin Care Awards in association with The Green Beauty Bible and the Allergy and FreeFrom Show who will host the presentation of the FreeFrom Skin Care Awards during this year’s show in May at Olympia.

As with the FreeFrom Food Awards, the FreeFrom Skin Care Awards are designed to celebrate and encourage skin care manufacturers who create products that exclude as many as possible of the allergens, chemicals, fragrances and artificial additives associated with many of the skin and health problems which plague the 21st century.

Categories:

In the 2012 Awards there will be three categories.

• Body and hair care – Sponsored by NATorigin
Including but not limited to:
Shower gels, body wash, bar soaps, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hand-care products, foot-care products, intimate care products.

• Face care
Including but not limited to:
Moisturisers, cleansers, toners, night cream, masks, serum, lip balms, shaving gels/lotions/balms

• Make up
Including but not limited to:
Tinted moisturisers, concealers, blushers, bronzers, eye liners, eye shadow, mascara, lipstick/gloss, nail varnish/colour/remover

Initial assessment of entries will be done by a team of independent skincare and natural health experts, along with skinsmatter.com staff; they will choose a shortlist of products for each category. Further samples of shortlisted products will be sent to independent testers for a final round of testing, before their feedback and reports are used to decide on commended, highly commended and winning products in all three categories and an overall winner of the 2012 FreeFrom Skins Matter Awards.

Entry:  1st January – 24th February 2012
Discounted entry fee for inaugural awards:   £50/product + VAT with 10% discount for products entered before 31st January
First Judging: Early March 2012
Shortlist published:   mid March 2012
Awards Presentation:   At the Allergy and FreeFrom Show – May 2012
