Criteria that products entered for the FreeFrom Skin Care Awards must meet: 

Allergens:

Only products that exclude three or more of the following major food allergens will be eligible to be entered – wheat, gluten, dairy, sesame, tree nuts, soya and egg.

Other ingredients:

Products that include any of the following ingredients will not be eligible to enter these awards:

Aluminium
Artificial fragrance
Diethanolamine (DEA)
Formaldehyde
Imazolidinyl Urea
Monoethanolamne (MEA)
Parabens (butyl-, ethyl- or methylparaben)
Petroleum (petrolatum) or mineral oil (paraffinum liquidum)
Petroleum derived products (e.g. propylene glycol)
Silicones and derivatives
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Talc unless pressed
Triethanolamine (TEA)

Non-organic lanolin
Peanut based products e.g. peanut oil (arachis hypogaea oil)

Rules of the awards

• Products must be available for sale across the UK (in retail outlets or by mail order) by 28/2/2012.
  
  
• Samples submitted must be production products on sale to the public and not pre-production samples.
  
  
• Samples must be submitted in the packaging in which they are sold.
  
  
• Companies may enter a maximum of six products, all in one category or across the categories.
  
  
• Only specific products, not ranges, will be accepted as entries.
  
  
• Each entry must be accompanied by a separate entry form and payment, purchase order or other arrangement for payment. We only need one cover sheet per company.
  
  
• Entrants will be asked to submit 2 initial testing samples of each product to be delivered to 5 Lawn Road, London NW3 2XS as soon as possible after the entrant receives confirmation that their entry has been accepted. The last date that samples will be accepted is Tuesday 28th February 2012.
  If the product makes it through to the shortlist, the entrant will be asked to submit further 10 samples for testing.
  
  
• All samples must be received by the deadlines specified or the product will forfeit its entry into the Awards and its entry fee.
  
  
• The organisers reserve the right to change the categories and organisational details without prior notice.
  
  
• The organisers reserve the right to accept or reject entries.
  
  
• The decision of the judging panel is final and the Skins Matter will not enter into any correspondence about the judges’ decisions.
  
  
• It is a condition of entry that all entrants will be bound by these rules.
