Premae Skincare

Every now and then along comes a skincare launch we get really excited about at SkinsMatter – and this is one of those times.
Spearheaded and conceived by multiple allergy and intolerance sufferer Clare Eluka, Premae Skincare launched just before Christmas, and is a new ethical brand with a highly specific allergen-free focus – but which goes over and above other such brands in uniquely offering for the first time a candida-friendly range entirely free from all sugar ingredients and fruit oils which may be implicated in problems associated with candida albicans, which can cause dermatitic skin irritations.
Prior to the UK release, the brand launched internationally in Uganda and maintains strong African connections, with ethical production schemes and partnerships for the harvesting and sourcing of unrefined herbal ingredients and butters. It is entirely cruelty-free, and vegan.
The brand is largely based on a 3-step ‘trinity system’ regime of face wash, followed by tonique, followed by moisturiser.
Two face washes are available: Balance Rescue (normal to combination skins) and Vital Nourishment (dry and mature skins) – both at £15 for 100ml.
Complementing these are six unique ranges each with tonique (50ml, £10-14) and moisturising balms (50ml, £14-20 – with a special offer of £9 currently on the Clemensy Balm, an entrant to our Free From Skincare Awards).
* The Clemensy Range contains Ugandan avocado butter for hypersensitive skins, including infants’, and severe allergy sufferers including those with candida albicans, dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
* The Gallant Range with East Indian sandalwood oil, is aimed at men.
* The Harmony Range contains Indian mango butter, and is aimed at combination skins, including adult acne.
* The PYT (Premae Youth Treatment) Range contains American peppermint oil for troubled teenage pores.
* The Supreme range contains Ugandan cocoa butter for extra dry skins.
* The Triumph Range caters for mature skins, and boasts Ethiopian harvested frankincense oil.
A selection of body oils and gift sets are also available, and there is free delivery on products until January 31st 2012 (which may be extended).
The range, whose name is derived from ‘Premium Formulae’, is free from the eight food allergens responsible for 90% of food-allergic reactions: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat (and gluten).
Additionally, it is free of all sugars, fruit oils, SLS and all sulphates, alcohol, lanolin, beeswax, parabens, ureas, MEA/DEA/TEA, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, polymers and quats.
We’re thrilled about this launch, not only because it caters so well for those with food sensitivities and associated problems, but also because there are products for all ages, skin types and the often-overlooked male consumer too, and we look forward to seeing it develop over the coming twelve months.
