Scoop Sensitive Man

Scoop Sensitive man

Male-specific natural skincare product ranges remain a little thin on the ground, at least relative to women’s ranges, so we’re always happy to welcome a new or revamped collection to the fold – this time in the shape of Scoop Sensitive Man.

The brand has relaunched with an initial core trio of products:

Exfoliating Face Mask (£25, 125ml): with kaolin, apricot kernels, shea butter and avocado oil, this is a highly effective and rich mask, which can be applied without fuss and, importantly, rinses off easily and cleanly without leaving a sticky mess around the sink. With its ground kernels it can be subsequently used as an exfoliating scrub after ten minutes or so but we did find it just a tiny bit too abrasive for that purpose – although some guys will appreciate the feeling that they’re really scrubbing away dead skin cells and making a difference to their complexions. The subtle citrus-y and tea tree oil aroma was spot on.

Shaving Soufflé (£15.50, 200ml): or shaving ‘cream’ to you and me, this thick effective product gave us a really decent smooth and pleasurable shave, and smelled and looked like the kind of dessert you would gladly eat with relish. Lots of coconut and olive oil, cocoa and shea butters, with jasmine and sweet orange oils make this another real winner.

Moisturising Calm Balm (£25, 50ml): this is the pick of the bunch as far as we’re concerned. Rich in olive and avocado oils, with a hint of rose water, it’s one of the most quickly absorbed moisturisers we’ve used. We tried it on our scalp after a close electric shave and it soothed wonderfully well. It’s not too oily and not skin-tightening, which earn it big bonus points. A real winner.

What we liked overall about the trio of products was that the natural qualities really shone through – particularly in the fragrance – and that the three individual items complemented each other very well. We hope for additions to the range in the future.

All products are free from parabens, sulphates, and artificial colours or perfumes.

As far as food allergens go, they are free from gluten/wheat and dairy.
